The Cry Baby Killer: Jack Nicholson's movie first appearance is a Roger Corman quickie in which we find a youth lawbreaker who fears even as he imagines he has committed a killing. Straight Time: Hoffman knocks heads with a untrustworthy parole officer played by Walsh following his discharge from the penitentiary and the start of a downward slide. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A unforgettable family's musical about a airborne car on one absurd journey, with an wholeheartedly memorable score and visual effects. Daniel: Extraordinary adaptation of E. L. Doctorow's book "Daniel", this is the fictionalized tale of Daniel, the son of Paul and Rochelle Isaacson, who were executed as Soviet spies in the 1950s. As a graduate student in New York in the 1960s, Daniel is caught up in the antiwar protest movement and contrasts his experiences to the recollection of his parents and his certainty that they were wrongfully convicted. Not without its imperfections, however in general a seductive and extremely well-made film.
