Free Movies Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

By Marty Roxx

Its not an easy task to turn a world famous series into a 150 minute movie but director Mike Newall has done it with Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire! Neat graphics and a thickening plot blend well with the growing actors talents to recreate onscreen the world of Harry Potter as imagined by millions of readers all over the globe. Even the finickiest readers will find this effort commendable and will enjoy the movie as a whole.

The Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire movie takes Harrys story into a more sinister realm. The gaming events that mark both the start (Quidditch World Cup), as well as the end (the final round of the Triwizard Tournament) have menacing ends. The Goblet of fire coughs up Harrys name in spite of him being below the required age and plunges him into life-threatening situations. With the different levels of the tournament, Harry begins to experience events that will eventually lead to a face-to-face encounter with Voldemort himself.

All the new characters introduced in the fourth book of the series have been brilliantly cast by the casting directors. Mad Eye Moodys role has been spectacularly rendered by Brendan Gleeson while Miranda Richardson (of The Hours fame) has pulled off a remarkably neat portrayal of the tabloid journalist Rita Skeeter. Ralph Fiennes, however, shines the most in his brilliant depiction of the fearsome and evil Lord Voldemort.

Daniel Radcliffe (who plays Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), and Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger) all appear to have grown up a lot more and the improvement in terms of their acting talents is remarkable. They manage to depict the strong bonds of friendship that binds the three main characters of the series with ease though there are situations in which they fall a bit short. Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane and Alan Rickman who play Albus Dumbledore, Rubeus Hagrid and Severus Snape are as delightful as ever. Rickman deserves a special mention for his well nuanced portrayal of Professor Snapes complex persona.

Outstanding cinematography as well as the amazing special effects employed help make this movie a pleasure to watch. Theres no doubt that many characters (such as the Dursleys and Winkie), and side plots are missing and this might be a point raised by Harry Potter fans but thats explained by the time constraints. But, at the end of the day, you dont have to be a die-hard Harry Potter fan to enjoy this film.
