A Few Helpful Movie Story Lines To Check Out

By Cory Hurley

Until recently, if you wanted to watch a movie, a trip to a video store like blockbuster was your only option. Instead of buying or renting the dvd, people now can choose a movie download instead. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

The Great Lie: Brent weds Davis after breaking off an engagement with Astor. Astor is carrying his child. He is lost in a plane crash, leaving Davis and pregnant Astor to battle each other and all the complications. Cast includes Mary Astor, Bette Davis, George Brent, Lucile Watson, Hattie McDaniel, Permit Mitchell, and Jerome Cowan. (107 minutes, 1941)

Eragon: Eragon is a poor young boy trying to help keep his family fed. When he finds a shiny blue stone he thinks it might bring food to the tables. The stone turns out to be an egg, a dragon egg. Eragon and this dragon were destined to be together. Now they will go on great adventures together.

From Russia With Love: Second James Bond film is one of the best; lots of anticipation and action, and one of the lengthiest, most arousing fight scenes ever orchestrated. Lenya makes an extremely wicked spy flick. Cast includes Sean Connery, Daniela Bianchi, Latte Lenya, Robert Shaw, Bernard Lee, and Lois Maxwell. (118 minutes, 1963)

The Nutcracker Prince: Physician Down treats an obvious madman, who then goes through a hallucinatory rerun of his current experiences: he's a French anthropologist who's materialized in L.A. and has been drawn to a band of bizarre street people. Cast includes Megan Follows, Peter Brosnan, Adam Ant, Anna-Maria Monticelli, Hector Mercado, and Mary Woronov. (75 minutes, 1990)

Bellissima: Obvious drama in reference to pushy, pitying mom Magnani, infatuated to the point of hysteria with getting her cute, compliant little girl into films. The movie is loud while it should be delicate, and eventually grows tiresome. Cast includes Anna Magnani, Walter Chiari, Tina Apicella, Gastone Renzelli, and Alessandro Blasetti. (112 minutes, 1952)

Commando: Here's an extremely loud comic magazine flick in reference to a retired special ops man (Schwarzenegger), who's made to go back in time when vengeful goons abduct his child. Cast includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rae Daybreak Chong, Dan Hedaya, Vernon Wells, David Patrick Kelly, and Alyssa Milano. (88 minutes, 1985)

Follow the Fleet: Admirable musical with sai;or Astaire and Scott courting siblings Rogers and Hilliard. Irving Berlin melodies contain "Let's Face the Music and Dance," "Let Yourself Go," "We Noticed the Ocean." A revising of Beach Leave, a 1925 Richard Barthelmess flick, and the 1930 film Hit the Deck. That's Lucille Ball as Cat. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Randolph Scott, Harriet Hilliard Nelson, Astrid AlIwyn, and Betty Grable. (110 minutes, 1936)

Accattone: Accattone is an unforgiving expose of the lives of the crooks and pimps in the ghettos of Rome. In particular we follow the life of Vittorio Accattone, a pimp whose life is coming unraveled. He becomes a pitiful figure trying to find his way. Franco Citti, Franca Pasut, Roberto Scaringella, and Adele Cambria are the stars. (1961 Foreign-Italian)

Trackdown: Montana rancher (Jim Mitchum) comes to L.A. looking for his sister, who has fallen into a seamy life in the streets. Not much depth however lots of action. Cast includes Jim Mitchum, Karen Larnm, Anne Archer, Erik Estrada, Cathy Lee Crosby, and Vince Cannon. (98 minutes, 1976)
